In 2020 Welaat GT established its presence within the largest shopping mall in Bahrain (City Center Mall). Our goal was to allow our elders to enjoy shopping along with their family members.
When I was a kid, my parents when going shopping in Manama or Muharraq souq’s used to take me along with my brothers and sisters. I remember how happy I was during these times, looking at new products, enjoying a spicy plate from “Aloo Bashir” and a glass of ice cold juice. I still cherish these memories and try to do the same with my kids.
Many times I tried to take my parents along with me and my kids to the new shopping malls that were newly opened in Bahrain (City Center Mall, Seef Mall, Dragon Mall, The Avenues). I wanted them to enjoy their time and in a way repay them for all the good times they shared with me.
However, they never seemed to enjoy it as much as I did. Why? They were too old to cope with us and their grandchild’s. They rather sit in a coffee shop and wait for us till we are done. After a while, they stopped coming with us thinking that they were a burden and holding us back from enjoying our day out.
I bought them a regular wheelchair, thinking that this will solve the problem. Well, it didn’t. Regular wheelchairs are bulky and took a lot of space in my small car. Also, my parents still felt that they were a burden on us since we had to push them in the wheelchairs.
I almost gave up, until one day while travelling abroad and inside one of the shopping malls, I saw this lovely old lady who whooshed right next to me in her Electric Wheelchair. She was older than my parents, yet she was enjoying her time shopping independently. That’s when it hit me.
I went on a quest to search for the best electric wheelchairs for my parents. (After all they deserve the best.)
I wanted an Electric Wheelchair that is lightweight, safe, reliable, easy to carry around and use at the same time. The available options in the market were limited. Hence, I custom requested these foldable electric wheelchairs from an electric wheelchair factory.
When we received the electric wheelchairs, my parents were hesitant in the beginning to try them out but when they did, they immediately fell in love with them. Today they carry them along wherever they go. They even take them while traveling outside of Bahrain.
I wanted to extend this joy to other families, especially those who have elder members or members with handicap disabilities. So with the help of my family members (Welaat GT) was born.
We established our presence in 2020 in one of the largest shopping malls in Bahrain, “Majed Al Futtaim Bahrain City Center Mall”.
Today, we are not only providing Electric Wheelchairs, we’ve also added the foldable Electric shopping scooters.
We provide these Electric wheelchairs and scooters on a rental basis (Hourly, Daily or Monthly) or for those who wishes to own them, they are available for sale as well.
Today Welaat GT is a complete service provider for Electric Wheelchairs and Scooters. Not only do we provide sales/rental services, we also provide after sales, accessories, spare parts and maintenance services for our customers.
