Bahrain Dragon Mall

The Place to find all your needs. Or is it?

Officially opened in December 2015, Dragon City (locally named Dragon Mall) rests in the busy man-made island of Diyar Al Muharraq.

The mall is only 12 km driving distance from the Bahrain International Airport and almost 46 km from the Bahraini-Saudi causway.

The mall houses a lot of Chinese shops selling different types of products such as:

  • Clothes
  • Bedroom accessories
  • Toys
  • Water fountains
  • Household tools
  • Electrical products (Lights/spotlights, home appliances, electric switches, etc.)
  • Security camera’s
  • Furniture
  • Curtains
  • Restaurant equipment’s
  • Vape products
  • Electric generators

There is a small food court with 3 or 4 restaurants located inside the mall in addition to coffee shops, Ice cream and Gelato shops scattered in the main hall of the mall.

Since a lot of GCC and specifically Saudi tourists visit this mall throughout the year, you will also find a famous local Bahraini sweet shop that sells the famous local Bahraini Halwa sweet.

A Muslim praying room is available for daily prayers which is a plus for the mall.

If you’re visiting the mall with your kids, then there is not much of activities catered for their entertainment. However, some Toy shops tend to let kids try out some of their products within the mall.

The size of Dragon City mall Bahrain might not be as large as the Dragon mall Dubai (officially known as Dragon Mart), you can cover the whole mall within a couple of hours if you’re just cruising the shops.

Amazingly, wheelchairs are not provided within the Dragon mall Bahrain as a service for the elder people or those who needs one. If you need a wheelchair, then you better bring your own with you or more conveniently rent one from www.welaat.com where you can get the option to rent a manual wheelchair or an electrical wheelchair or electric shopping scooter.

Conclusion

Dragon City Bahrain is a must visit shopping outlet in Bahrain for those who crave for Chinese products and gadgets.

Although you might find many of the products that you’re looking for, the mall lacks on many other products. for example, there is no convenience store or kids play zone. It’s like the management intentionally built the mall for shopping Chinese goods and that’s it, so think twice before bringing your kids along (unless you’re planning to buy them toys).

If you are an elder person or planning to bring one along with you, then make sure to bring your own wheelchair as the mall will not provide you with one and it will be hard for you to enjoy the shopping experience on foot.
